BOD Third Special Meeting
HLU BOD Third Special Meeting Outcome
Dear HLU Members,
HLU (Hanseatic League of Universities) Board of Directors had the Third Special Meeting on May 27th, 2020.
Although the meeting was unprecedented in the sense that it was through Zoom and that the members of the Board were located in different time zones of the world, 8 of the total 10 BOD members were present!
I am truly grateful to you for your willingness to attend the Board meeting at 6 am from Arizona, 3-4 pm from Europe, Africa, and Russia, 9 pm from China, and 10 pm from Korea. I am convinced that HLU has become a major assembly of the universities based on our camaraderie!
At the meeting, BOD unanimously decided on the resolutions as following.
1. Postponement of the Third HLU Conferences from 2020 to 2021.
Northern Arizona University will host the Third HLU Conference in 2021 and BelSU will host the Fourth HLU Conference in 2022. We thank President Rita Cheng of NAU and Rector Oleg Polukhin of BelSU for their willingness and leadership to host the HLU Conferences in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
2. The Zoom seminar to officially release the WURI (World’s Universities Real Impact) Ranking on June 11th.
The starting time of the Zoom seminar will be 6 am from Arizona, 3-4 pm from Europe, Africa, and Russia, 9 pm from China, and 10 pm from Korea.
The Zoom seminar is organized by 4 global institutions: Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU), United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Geneva, Switzerland, Taylor Institute of Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland (TI-FUS), and the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) in Seoul, Korea.
The Zoom seminar will be composed of three sessions. First, it starts with the official release of the WURI ranking by Professor MOON Hwy-Chang, the WURI Project Leader. In the second session, the evaluators and judges of the WURI ranking will give their overall comments for the innovative programs which they reviewed. In the third session, the applicants who prepared brief video clips will present their innovative programs.
Professor MOON Hwy-Chang, WURI project leader will inform you of the Zoom ID number and the password before the occasion.
